Job Description

Software Developers We are seeking skilled Software Developers to work with a Federal Government client on high-impact projects. Successful candidates will play a key role in designing, building, and integrating software solutions to support national security operations. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, integrate, and document software solutions that meet business requirements. Engage with business and product owners to clarify and enhance user requirements using Agile methodologies. Monitor systems and infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely support. Implement and maintain automated testing to improve software reliability and performance. Enhance and support automation capabilities, recommending and designing tools that align with business needs. Integrate Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) software. Translate logical designs into physical designs and develop software using Agile Software Development Methodology (ASDM). Technical Skills & Experience: Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks such as Python, Java, Java Messaging Service, JavaScript/TypeScript, J2EE, RESTful web services, Django, Ruby, Kubernetes, and OpenShift. Experience with automation tools like Puppet, Ansible, and Docker. Hands-on experience using React for front-end development. Selection Criteria (Essential): Software Development (PROG 4): Designs, codes, tests, documents, and refactors complex programs. Applies development methods, tools, and standards to deliver high-quality software. Specialist Advice (TECH 4): Provides detailed technical advice, maintains specialist knowledge, and collaborates with other experts. Systems Design (DESN 4): Designs system components using appropriate modelling techniques, evaluates alternative designs, and ensures alignment with architecture and requirements. System Software (SYSP 4): Monitors system performance, configures software for optimal functionality, and resolves software-related issues. Testing (TEST 3): Designs and executes manual and automated testing, ensuring software meets pre-determined criteria. Systems Integration (SINT 3): Defines and manages software builds, configures environments, and conducts integration testing. Requirements: Australian citizenship.
