The Opportunity We are seeking a Solicitor (2-4PQE) to join our financial services regulatory team based in either Melbourne or Sydney. Working as part of a close-knit national practice lead by Partners Charlotte Henry and Alice Molan , you will advise local and international clients in the banking, non-bank lending, payments and fintech sectors. Your expertise in non-contentious FSR will provide valued support to clients facing an increasingly complex regulatory environment and allow them to adeptly navigate upcoming reforms. This area of legal practice is dynamic and growing rapidly, and the deep expertise of our national FSR team is reflected in our rankings: Tier 1 (Legal 500 - Regulatory Compliance) Band 1 (Chambers Asia Pacific - Financial Services Regulation) Band 1 (Chambers FinTech Guide) What you’ll bring Tertiary qualifications in law and an unrestricted Australian or NZ practicing certificate. 2+ years’ experience in a FSR team within private practice, an in-house division or relevant regulatory body. Relevant regulatory experience covering one or more of the following areas: payment systems regulation, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing laws, consumer credit and retail banking laws, prudential regulation including the financial accountability regime, and personal property securities legislation. Strong technical skills and academic results. A curiosity about our clients, and eagerness to build relationships to support the growth and reputation of the practice. An ability to manage competing priorities, work to tight timeframes and support our multi-disciplinary matters. A friendly and positive approach to mentoring Law Graduates and Law Clerks who rotate through the team.
