Solicitor and Senior Associate - Financial Services - Sydney or Melbourne Join a top-tier global law firm advising on financial services regulation, AML, and digital transformation for leading institutions. 23rd January, 2025 A leading global law firm with a strong presence in major financial hubs across the globe is seeking a skilled Solicitor and Senior Associate to join its Financial Services Regulatory team. Renowned for providing premium-quality, full-service legal advice, the firm supports some of the largest and most ambitious organisations worldwide.The Role Due to team expansion, opportunities exist for a Solicitor (2–4 years PQE) and a Senior Associate (5–8 years PQE) in Sydney or Melbourne . The successful candidates will work alongside highly respected partners and collaborate with a dynamic team of legal professionals on a variety of high-profile financial services regulatory matters.Key Responsibilities Advising on financial services licensing requirements and regulatory obligations. Assisting clients in navigating complex anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) requirements. Providing support for regulatory reform initiatives, digitization projects, and transformations in the financial services sector. Engaging with key regulators and supporting compliance frameworks for financial institutions. Working on significant matters, including regulatory compliance for M&A transactions, designing terms for new financial products, and advising on consumer credit laws. Requirements The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services and regulatory law, with a preference for individuals passionate about AML.In addition, you will have the following:Relevant legal experience in financial services regulation (AML/CTF expertise preferred but not essential). High-level technical and analytical skills with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams across multiple offices globally and in Australia. Demonstrated experience in managing client relationships and delivering commercially focused advice.
