Base pay range A$120,000.00/yr - A$140,000.00/yr Operations Director APAC | Industrial Automation Recruitment | Project Management, Solutions Design and Executive Appointments Do you have strong analytical skills and experience in high-level warehouse solutions concepting/layout design? Are you comfortable working with cross-functional teams, presenting solutions to customers and supporting them during project implementation? Reflecting unprecedented growth, this vendor-side solutions provider has created a new opportunity for a Solution Design Engineer to join either their Sydney or Melbourne operation. Reporting directly to the Head of New Business (ANZ) and supporting a successful sales team, the new appointee to this critical role will analyse customer data as well as engage with them on site to fully understand their business requirements before developing bespoke warehouse automation system designs, layouts and project estimates for winning presentations and bids. Working closely with in-country and overseas colleagues, you will: Analyse available data and audit customer operations to develop design level documentation. Develop models that reflect the customer’s current business and highlight the effects of proposed enhancements. Provide technical design, layout and estimating support to sales staff. Complete design and estimation in accordance with realisation formats and procedures, also seeking input from other functions, as required. Assist the sales team with the preparation of proposals (incl. Description of Operation) and tender submissions. Participate in increasing the collective knowledge of the team, both technical and competitiveness. Develop understanding of WMS functionality and application. Be responsible for post contract implementation of non-physical aspects of company systems, including: operational planning guides operational flow charts methods & procedures Review functional specifications for system software together with the Software Engineer. Assist in monitoring & auditing final implementation and performance of system to ensure customer requirements have been met. About you: You’re probably already working as a Solution Design Engineer or Sales Engineer in an intralogistics/automated storage environment (whether vendor side, client side or consultancy) or have done so in the past. In addition to your tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar, you are/have: Ambitious to broaden your role scope Excellent analytical skills Strategic thinker with strong prioritisation and time-management skills A confident presenter with excellent client-facing interpersonal skills. A great team player Good communication skills including excellent written and verbal English language. Strong attention to detail Microsoft office knowledge Experience of working with AutoCAD/Revit or similar.
