Sous Chef – Sydney Theatre Company (STC) The Theatre Bar at the end of the Wharf offers diners and event guests a relaxed bar and dining space overlooking one of Australia's most iconic views. The venue is open Monday-Saturday for lunch, dinner, or just coffee & cocktails. Seating approximately 300, the venue attracts pre- and post-theatre diners as well asbeing a popular bar in its own right - attracting consistent patronage from the general public due to its spectacular views coupled with a relaxed and friendly environment. An exciting opportunity exists to join our venue as a full time Sous Chef Demonstrate your culinary talents, passion, and flair for an award winning hospitality group A fun and motivated team environment Excellent career progression and professional growth within our group Staff benefits including discounts off all company venues Sponsorship is a possibility for the right candidate Excellent work-life balance - every Sunday off Salary range $80,000 + super About the role Utilise your creativity in preparing exceptionally presented dishes, consistent in flavour and appearance Working with a large hospitality company with multiple restaurants Work closely with the Head and Executive Chefs to further your cooking skills and techniques Work with the Head Chef to bring food and staff costs in on line Motivate and manage a small kitchen brigade, ensuring speed of service for restaurant and function service Manage the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef Follow all food safety procedures and legislation Gastro pub and grazing menu Lunch and dinner shifts rotate Monday to Sunday About you Qualifications in Commercial Cookery Experienced in a fast paced bar or pre-theatre restaurant would be ideal Be passionate and open to learning new skills in the kitchen Hold valid working rights in Australia with the ability to work full time hours If this role sounds like you, apply now!
