Your Story with Us As a Special Counsel at Safewill Legal, you will play a pivotal role in scaling our growing business while maintaining the technical excellence that underpins our success. This is a senior, hands-on position for a highly experienced estate planning lawyer ready to lead a team across simple and complex matters while contributing to the Safewill Group’s mission to redefine the future of estate services. You will bring deep technical expertise, leadership capability, and industry passion to a fast-growing team. You will work closely alongside our Principal Solicitor to manage a team of estate lawyers as they deliver high quality Probate, Administration and Estate Planning Services nationally. This role represents a rare opportunity to influence the transformation of a practice area and position yourself at the forefront of a digital legal revolution.What you'll do As our Special Counsel, you will:Lead on probate, administration and estate planning matters of significant complexity, including advisory work and bespoke drafting for high-net-worth clients. Work within a team and autonomously, ensuring final technical quality across business outputs. Design and implement processes that enable us to efficiently serve a growing client base while maintaining quality. Partner with Safewill’s product and tech teams to ideate, refine, and deliver digital products that transform how Australians engage with estate planning. Set the standard for legal excellence and attract high-calibre team members who share our vision for a progressive, product-led legal practice. Who You Are We are looking for a senior estate planning lawyer who combines deep expertise with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, startup environment. The ideal candidate will bring: Extensive experience in all aspects of estate planning including grants of representation and estate administration (at least 5+ years PQE specialising in estates) Demonstrated ability to work independently on highly complex matters, including strategic estate planning, tailored advice, and bespoke drafting. An adaptable mindset, excited by the opportunity to scale legal services in a fast-moving, innovative environment.
