Specialist Family Support Practitioner - Mackay $97,378 - $101,788 + Super + Salary sacrifice Act for Kids is a prominent provider of prevention, professional therapy and support services for children who have suffered abuse and support for families at risk. About the Position We are looking to welcome a Specialist Family Support Practitioner to deliver interventions to families, addressing identified needs and child protection concerns. This position is based in our Mackay Office. Mackay is a large regional city located on the Whitsunday Coast with numerous spectacular beaches and is within an hour’s drive of rainforests, Airlie Beach and provides access to the Great Barrier Reef and the gorgeous Whitsunday Islands. Part time or full time (0.8FTE - 1.0FTE). Government funded until 30 June 2027 with the possibility of extension. Level 5 under the SCHCADS Salary range is $97,378 - $101,788 + Super (Pro-rata for part time). Considering a move? Relocation supports available. Key Responsibilities: Maintain a caseload of families and provide evidence-informed case management interventions for clients with varied complex needs specifically, those whose clinical presentations may include mental health, AOD and/or disability. Engage with families, obtain consent and develop a case plan in conjunction with the family which addresses unmet needs and child protection concerns. Build the practice capabilities of team members by modelling, mentoring/coaching staff during home visits, interventions, complex family interviews, inter-agency meetings and other practice situations. About You A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (allied health, social work, human services). At least five (5) years’ experience providing complex and intensive case-management and therapeutic services to families, caregivers, young people, and children in a child protection framework. Experience in working with people with mental health, disability, and complex needs. Cultural awareness and an understanding of how to communicate and work effectively with families from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
