WaterNSW Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia Specialist Project Engineer (Principal Level Role) WaterNSW is seeking an experienced Specialist Project Engineer (Principal Level Role) (Full-Time, Permanent) to join our team in Parramatta . This is an opportunity for an experienced Principal Project Engineer to provide technical expertise and mentorship to the Asset Delivery and Project Engineering Teams on complex projects. In this role, you will act as an escalation point, providing expert technical guidance and solutions for complicated or challenging issues to lead and drive effective and clear project outcomes. What You’ll Do: Lead the development and implementation of technical/engineering solutions across multiple projects and programs, leading all interactions with design consultants and providing technical oversight and risk guidance through project delivery. Provide technical support and leadership in solving complex design and engineering solutions. Provide guidance and mentorship through effective facilitation and mediation. Work with the Project Team and stakeholders to establish and mitigate risks early in solution development, ensuring that high impact design decisions and interdisciplinary efforts are coordinated early in the project lifecycle. Make recommendations based on technical experience and expertise and confirm project work scope, options, design approach and verification, whilst effectively managing design consultants and contractors. Produce and review documents, records, and assessments to justify engineering related decisions, results, and records to meet corporate Quality expectations, Australian Standards, and best practice. Provide specialist technical support, mentoring, guidance, and recommendations across all project phases to enhance engineering knowledge and support overall technical development across Project Engineering. What We Are Looking For: Bachelor's degree or higher in the relevant engineering discipline and must have Chartered Engineering status with Engineers Australia or recognised equivalent. Extensive experience in managing the design and engineering aspects of multiple multidisciplinary infrastructure projects through construction and completion. Drive to create an inclusive technical development and mentoring culture. Extensive knowledge of Engineering Design and project delivery Risk management practices, and industry best practices and standards as they relate to quality assurance processes systems and methods. Extensive knowledge of relevant core assets such as dams, water regulating structures, bridges, roads, canals, embankments, buildings, and cranes. Well-developed, demonstrated approach to navigating complex and/or high-risk technical problems and demonstrated clear decision-making to achieve effective outcomes. Expertise in stakeholder engagement, communication, and meeting facilitation. A current NSW Driver's License.
