Job Description

Experienced Speech Pathologist – Community Neuro Permanent Full Time (38 hours a week). Part time options available. Salary Range: $85,000 – $100,000 +11.5% superannuation, 5 weeks annual leave + 17.5% leave loading and travel remuneration Who we are Independent Rehabilitation Services are a team of 60 passionate, skilled and dedicated staff across our Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology and Business Support Teams. Your day to day You’ll be supported: we make sure your transition into a new workplace is smooth and supported. Whether this is your first community rehab job, or you’re experienced in the sector, we’ve got you covered with our extensive induction program, clinical and professional supervision, mentoring, and our unique Resilience Buddy Program. We aim to give you a mixed caseload with a range of levels of complexity so that you have the opportunity to grow through challenges, and feel a sense of accomplishment with client wins. You’ll have variety: every day is different. You’ll see clients with neurological conditions, such as traumatic brain injury, stroke and Parkinson’s Disease, and support them to achieve their goals across areas of practice like speech, language, swallowing, voice, cognitive-communication and AAC. You’ll work closely with clients, their families and supports. You’ll most likely see your clients in their home, however you might also see your clients out in the community at the shops, at their day program or at work. The variety is just one of the great things about working in community rehabilitation. You’ll help clients achieve their goals : using an evidence-based approach through assessment, intervention, goal setting and outcome measurement, as well as some creativity. Our clinicians find this an incredibly rewarding and satisfying aspect of the role. You’ll also be liaising with external providers, such as TAC and NDIS, to advocate for your clients – including phone calls with support coordinators and members of the multidisciplinary team, and writing reports. Our Speech Pathologists have worked with clients to present at aphasia conferences, access AAC for the first time in their lives, and eat their favourite food. We’ll support you to achieve your goals : as well as supervision and mentoring, we have a dedicated Career Journey Program as you commit to lifelong learning and working on your own career goals. We are invested in your growth as a clinician. You’ll also have an opportunity to supervise and mentor other members of the MDT, as well as supervise other clinicians. You’ll have access to internal and external professional development opportunities. You’ll be part of a team: As a valued member of the Speech Pathology team, you’ll be actively involved in team meetings, social catch-ups and opportunities to participate in projects. You’ll also be involved in MDT clinical work, staff meetings and social activities.
