Disease Area (Franchise) Business Lead role Experience in Ophthalmology, Oncology/Haematology or Neuroscience preferred Sydney-based role with flexible work arrangement A Squad Lead (Disease Area Business Lead) plays a crucial role in pioneering life-changing healthcare for every Australian. Squad Leads actively engage with Roche stakeholders, in particular the Country Leadership Team, to understand business problems or desired outcomes for partners and patients across disease area(s). They lead a large complex team, without formal authority, to deliver on those outcomes. Sets the Ambition Ensures Cross Functional Leadership Ensures Prioritisation and Resources Fosters External and Internal Partnerships Provides Inspirational VACC Leadership (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst and Coach), uniting people around a shared purpose, inspiring them to achieve disease area-aligned outcomes What will you be working on: As part of the Customer Experience Community, your responsibilities will include: Working with all squad leads as a cohesive, supportive team, focusing on pioneering life-changing healthcare for every Australian Taking accountability for disease area strategy, managing resourcing, and meeting defined outcomes Collaborating with other Squad Leads and Chapter Leads to make decisions about resource allocation and trade-offs across the affiliate to deliver on priorities Removing roadblocks to teamwork Determining composition of disease area teams and identify capabilities required (short and long term) based on disease area priorities and outcomes Functioning as an ambassador for enterprise thinking and role model new ways of working Fostering a pragmatic versus perfect, continuous improvement and growth mindset within the squad Working with Agile Coaches, the Country Leadership Team and Chapter Leads (people leaders), enable agile ways of working within the squad and across the affiliate Who you are: You are a driven individual with strong commercial acumen who thrives working in an empowered, dynamic and agile working environment and able to understand relationships, create purposeful strong internal/external collaborations with key stakeholders to enable better outcomes for customers. You have: University degree in Life Science or equivalent. An advanced degree in similar field and/or MBA is a plus Significant prior experience (5-10 years) in similar roles (e.g. Disease Area Franchise / Business Lead) in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry is required Experience leading complex cross-functional teams is necessary. Having direct people leader experience is a plus Experience contributing to cross-functional strategies Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills Experience in relevant squad therapeutic area(s) - Ophthalmology, Oncology/Haematology and Neuroscience preferred Knowledge and compliance with Medicines Australia Code of Conduct and relevant standards and guidelines Broad understanding of medicine lifecycle management Broad strategic understanding of the Australian regulatory and reimbursement (HTA) environment and associated evidentiary standards Proficiency in English language to collaborate internally across the broader Roche enterprise This Sydney based role may require Interstate and/or international travel. Having a valid driving license and the full eligibility to live and work in Australia is necessary as visa and/or relocation support is not available for this role.
