FAST FACTS: Stone throw from Sydney’s CBD The Anaesthetist is responsible for the provision of specialist anaesthetic services to emergency patients, inpatients, and outpatients at the Hospital. Strong interest in clinical education, pain medicine, or ICU Competitive remuneration packages The Position: The applicant must be dedicated to a teamwork philosophy and be able to support and facilitate a culture of learning and best practice while providing high-quality specialist anaesthetic services to inpatients and outpatients of the hospital and emergency. Applications are welcomed from those expecting Fellowship with ANZCA within the next 6 months, and the hospital is interested in receiving applications from FANZCAs with a strong interest in clinical education, pain medicine (especially FAFPM), or ICU (FCICM). The Anaesthetist will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the Anaesthetics Service. The Anaesthetist will proactively: Support the development of anaesthetic services Support and facilitate a culture of learning and best practice Support and develop anaesthesia research within the department Clinical duties include: Provide an accountable and high standard service consistent with the defined scope of clinical practice for Local Health Service and all NSW Health Policies. Demonstrate ability to work as a team member within the Department and the broader multidisciplinary team. Ensure detailed patient treatment plans are in place to support timely management of patients and effective clinical handover processes. Maintain high standards of clinical record documentation, including completion of all clinical records. Participate fully in the on-call roster as required by the facility. Participate actively in research activities in the Department. The Local Health District: It provides services to the entire region, encompassing a population of approximately 351,000. The Hospital has the capacity to treat complex and specialist cases, providing all medical specialties including 24/7 cardiac intervention, aged care, Paediatrics, and all surgical specialties except cardio-thoracic surgery. The emergency Department is one of the busiest in New South Wales, with around 50,000 case presentations annually. The Location: Approximately a two-hour drive from Sydney, this area is known for its laid-back lifestyle, culture, and cuisine.
