Position: Staff Specialist Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Addiction Psychiatry Location: Sydney Children's Hospitals Network Employment Type: Temporary Part Time Hours Per Week: Up to 16 Requisition ID: REQ484038 Commencement: ASAP through to 30 June 2026 About Us: Sydney Children's Hospitals Network is the largest paediatric health care entity in Australia, caring for thousands of children each year. What You'll Be Doing This position is required to provide Child and Adolescent Psychiatry specialist service to the Department of Psychological Medicine at The Children's Hospital at Westmead (CHW) and Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick (SCH). Responsibilities include: Delivering excellent clinical care to children and supporting their families. Conducting research and teaching in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Providing psychiatric consultation for children, young people, and families referred to the Care and Intervention for Children and Adolescents affected by Drugs and Alcohol (CICADA) service. Working in various psychological medicine teams as needed. Direct patient care and supervising junior medical staff. Providing training and support to clinicians across multiple disciplines. Minimum Requirements To be eligible for this role, you must have: Registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Psychiatrist. Demonstrated clinical experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, and/or Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Co-Morbidity. The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership. Effective clinical communication skills. A commitment to teaching, continuing education, research, and quality improvement. Availability to participate in an on-call roster. Additional Information: This position requires a Working with Children Check (WWCC) and compliance with vaccination requirements as per NSW Health directives.
