An exciting opportunity to be part of our new inpatient mental health service is on offer. West Moreton have opened a new, state of the art, multilevel inpatient facility, designed with patient well being in mind. Our new MHAIS facility includes five separate wards, natural light and green spaces, specialist sensory rooms, a patient gym, and open courtyard spaces for both patients and staff. We have positions for both inpatient and community psychiatrists. This is an opportunity to join the rapidly expanding West Moreton team and work within a modern and progressive environment. The position of Staff Specialist/Consultant Psychiatrist will support the development, clinical governance and clinical activity within the Adult Mental Health Service, at West Moreton Hospital and Health Service (West Moreton HHS) with a focus on the needs of consumers presenting with acute mental health needs. About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following: Demonstrated extensive knowledge, expertise and skill in the assessment and clinical management of people with mental illness in a specialised mental health service setting. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication, consultation and negotiation skills including the ability to provide high level clinical leadership, advice and direction within a multidisciplinary team and to relevant stakeholders. Demonstrated commitment to leading mental health recovery model of care, evidence based practice and continuous quality improvement to enhance service delivery outcomes. Demonstrated expert knowledge of National and State Mental Health directions and legislation relevant to the provision of specialist mental health services. Demonstrated experience in the provision of effective training to junior medical staff. Mandatory Requirements: Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry or equivalent postgraduate specialist qualification.
