Staff Specialist - Young Adult Psychiatrist

An exciting opportunity exists for a psychiatrist with an interest in working with young adults. We are looking for a psychiatrist to lead our Headspace Consultation Liaison program, and our newly founded Early Psychosis program. The successful applicant will work in a part-time position within a multidisciplinary team to deliver community services to young people aged 13 years and over. This is an opportunity to work in a progressive and rapidly developing area of mental health. Position Details: • Permanent Part Time, 56hrs per fortnight The Position of Staff Specialist/Consultant Psychiatrist will support the development, clinical governance, and clinical activity within the Adult Mental Health Service, at West Moreton Hospital and Health Service (West Moreton HHS) with a focus on the needs of consumers presenting with acute mental health needs. About You: Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following: Demonstrated extensive knowledge, expertise and skill in the assessment and clinical management of people with mental illness in a specialised mental health service setting. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication, consultation and negotiation skills including the ability to provide high level clinical leadership, advice and direction within a multidisciplinary team and to relevant stakeholders. Demonstrated commitment to leading the mental health recovery model of care, evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement to enhance service delivery outcomes. Demonstrated expert knowledge of National and State Mental Health directions and legislation relevant to the provision of specialist mental health services. Demonstrated experience in the provision of effective training to junior medical staff. Mandatory Requirements: Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16.
