AUSactive, formerly Fitness Australia, is the national peak health and exercise industry association. As a not-for-profit organisation, we exist to encourage all Australians to engage in physical activity, professionalise the exercise and active health industry through engaging in partnerships, advocacy, delivering education and accreditation. We're made up of over 18,000 members, including businesses, professionals and students, 200 CEC providers and 40 quality accredited businesses who are leading the way in quality service delivery in an industry with over 7 million active consumers. Location: Melbourne or Sydney Role Overview: This full-time Standards and Education Manager position is responsible for overseeing tasks related to standards, education, and development projects. This role includes managing consultation and research for key projects, driving continuous improvement in professional registration and continuing education systems, and promoting the implementation and evaluation of standards and systems. Additionally, the manager will assist in the development of guidelines and learning resources, build strong relationships with members and external stakeholders, and lead a small team, ensuring they are supported to achieve both their personal potential and AUSactive’s strategic goals. Major Responsibilities: Coordinate the development of professional education modules Manage the learning management system Guide the consultation processes with key advisory groups, stakeholder groups and industry businesses/professionals to inform guidelines, education, systems and policy development Contribute to the development and review of professional guidelines, registration requirements and standards education projects Support the dissemination activities for new and existing standards and guidelines internally and external stakeholders Provide industry updates for the Health & Fitness Industry Standards Council for evaluation Support the development of business certification, individual accreditation and enhancement of the quality accreditation system for businesses. Manage the Continuing Education (CE) administration team and workload Support CE program providers Manage CE system budget and external assessors Provide senior management ongoing reports Contribute to ongoing research and evaluation of registration and professional development system operations, standards, resource development and effectiveness Contribute proactively to the overall development of AUSactive through innovation, ideas and creativity based on industry and health promotion knowledge Required Education: Tertiary Qualification in Exercise Science or Health Science/Promotion (majoring in physical activity) or related degree Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment (or equivalent) Post-graduate qualifications in exercise/health science; education and/or project management Required Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in delivery of fitness education or health promotion Knowledge and experience in exercise science and fitness programming Ability to liaise with senior management, work independently and engage with stakeholders in a positive and pro-active manner Detailed knowledge of the contemporary Australian exercise and active health industry and exercise professional services Utilising customer relationship and learning management systems Project management and multi-tasking skills Aptitude for gathering and utilising evidence for content development IT literacy and data management skills Critical thinking and technical analysis skills Excellent communication, presentation and reporting skills Excellent organisational skills Experience working within a professional or industry association Experience in content development in a health or exercise context Experience in dealing with government departments, key health non-government organisations and health or exercise, Pilates, yoga and/or tai chi networks Capacity to work efficiently on multiple projects, ensuring that project deadlines and budgets are met Excellent verbal and written communication skills Well-developed project management skills and ability to multitask Understanding of contemporary Australian exercise and active health industry Aptitude for gathering, reporting and presenting evidence for quality improvement Sound IT literacy skills, including proficiency in the use of word processing, excel, email and internet software Interest in fitness and health Availability for interstate travel Job benefits and perks: We are an energetic and vibrant team working on activating the nation: Every body, Every way, Every day .
