About the Role You will lead a team of commercial banking professionals to deliver exceptional growth, customer, risk, people/team, and community outcomes. As State Manager, you will be responsible for the growth of the Commercial & Property Finance business in NSW (based in Sydney CBD) whilst managing through complex credit risk, continuous organisational change, growing and managing a customer-focused business, whilst also being an active member of the local business community. You will lead and be responsible for the effective management of risk and asset quality of the portfolio to ensure a sustainable business. As State Manager, you will be an effective communicator and translate the Group strategy into workable solutions whilst guiding the work of others to ensure alignment with business strategy. What will your day look like? As a State Manager for Commercial & Property Finance, you will: Provide clear expectations, make decisions and hold teams accountable for high performance against agreed targets. Act with honesty and integrity, address issues, and treat others fairly. Manage risk and empower the team to deliver results. Support the team to act in the best interests of our customers through genuine interactions. To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: Extensive experience in business management and business banking environment. Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to create and manage highly motivated and focused teams. Strong experience in leading and building sustainable businesses, teams, and relationships. Strong and effective communicator across a broad and diverse group of internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in banking/financial services focused on performance and service delivery. Demonstrated experience in roles requiring growth and retention of a customer base. Demonstrated experience in business development and community engagement. Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, banking and/or finance are highly desirable.
