The Business A major national manufacturer in the civil construction sector, this high performance business has an outstanding reputation for service & project delivery, customer focus, safety and quality. In recent years they've made many acquisitions and were recently acquired themselves, now owned by a huge global market leader in the building materials sector, further acquisitions and integrations very likely which will appeal to leaders who thrive in dynamic environments and want career progression. The Role Reporting to the CEO and a key member of the national ELT, this role is responsible for multiple sites across NSW & ACT and will be tasked with elevating performance to bring the region in line with the other states - a very clear remit around driving growth & profitability, operational improvement - essentially leading change and business improvement. The role will have direct responsibility for 4-6 branches with headcount over 150, manufacturing sites, sales teams, operations & logistics with shared functions across finance, HR and administration. The Person We are looking for a high calibre leader with extensive experience in the civil projects market as well as a track record of leading change and business improvement in a large, complex organisation. You will set high behavioural standards, be values driven and lead from the front without ego whilst demonstrating consistent growth outcomes throughout your career. Essential to be considered is having prior experience leading manufacturing, large teams of 100+, high level commercial and financial acumen, strong business disciplines around pricing optimisation, major project pipeline management and conversion and corporate presence - aspirations around career development very much welcomed given the size of the corporate structure of the parent company and its growth aspirations. Previous experience working with M&A teams, integrating acquisitions, building great cultures and tertiary qualifications are preferred. Hunger for success, determination & resilience, high energy and a positive, solution minded personality will appeal to the key decision makers who are all down to earth but very impressive leaders. The role will be given a high degree of autonomy to elevate the region's performance. Six Degrees are the retained partner on this search. Only Australian citizens or PR status (but local experience) will be considered. Some regional and national travel is expected in the role given the operational footprint of the business.
