Position Specific Responsibilities The State Manager Strategic Partnerships will work closely with the Leadership Team to lead, develop, and retain a team of Home Lending Partnership Managers (HLPM) to deliver business Development Excellence by role modeling effective business development techniques, ensuring quality and mutually beneficial strategic partnerships. In this role, you will ensure the team has the necessary skills, attributes, behaviors, and motivation to provide friendly, personal, and efficient service in meeting the full financial needs of customers regarding lending products and services. Working with your team, you will be responsible for generating high-quality home lending opportunities for Home Lenders through the Strategic Partnerships Program. You will have extensive knowledge in lending and strong capabilities in stakeholder management and leadership. Your team will generate these new business opportunities through supporting your peers/lenders in establishing and managing corporate partnerships through the Strategic Partnerships Program. About the Business Customer Service Lending (CSL) is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for the future, to our 10 million + personal and small business customers. You will be an integral part of the Strategic Partnerships Program. This business delivers specialist financial solutions to people, businesses, and communities nationally. Your main responsibilities will be to: Create an exceptional team Play an integral part in identifying, nurturing, and developing our business and growing market share. Drive an operational culture of continuous improvement. Maintain and drive a risk-averse culture within the team. From a retail perspective, the team also plays a key role in generating visibility for the ‘Commonwealth Bank’ brand in the marketplace. Coach and lead the team of HLPMs to achieve success and set team and individual goals. Establish trustworthy relationships and build rapport with business partners for business opportunities. Continue to enhance the Strategic Partnerships Program through strategic priorities. Involved in identifying strategic improvements and execution. The State Manager Strategic Partnerships will be expected to deliver on the following key areas: Critical Stakeholder Management by developing and maintaining relationships with Lenders and their Managers within Premier, Mobile, Business Banking, and Branch customer segments. Consistently displaying behaviors that encourage transparent and productive working relationships and a high-performance culture. Business Strategy by identifying and implementing areas of growth and improvement within your portfolio. Contribute to the annual strategic planning process for your state and review business performance and identify value creation opportunities for not only your portfolio but your team. Risk Management by assessing and identifying potential risks that may hinder the reputation, safety, security, and financial prosperity of the Commonwealth Bank. Adhere to compliance and risk standards of the Home Loan Referral Source and Wellbeing Programs. Your key relationships will comprise of: External formal partnerships. Your immediate peers throughout Australia. Customer Service Lending, Customer Service Network, Retail Banking Services & Small Business Banking. We’re interested in hearing from people who have: Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and people management skills, preferably in a sales and/or lending environment. Proven success in achieving business sales and service results. Detailed technical understanding of lending products, processes, and systems. Proven ability to source, establish, and manage relationships with external business partners to generate high volumes of business outcomes. Expertise in establishing and maintaining relationships with strategic business partners and developing mutually beneficial relationships. Strong lending background. Proven ability in creating and designing new content for stakeholders and customers. Technology Skills for navigating and applying Bank systems. Relevant financial services experience or a business-related degree (economics, marketing, finance, business). Demonstrated capability and experience in business development roles.
