The Team: Older Persons Mental Health involves a unique combination of physical and mental health care. We have a statewide service that provides three regional community teams and a statewide inpatient facility in Hobart. We are in the middle of an exciting reform that has already improved our services for clients, their families, and our staff. You will have the opportunity to develop active partnerships to support sector integration and client outcomes, develop and implement ongoing quality improvement, and develop and implement strategies to meet current and future service priorities. The Role: The Director of Nursing - Older Persons Mental Health (OPMHS) Statewide is an autonomous senior manager and lead clinician working with the Group Director OPMHS, and under the guidance of the Statewide Specialty Director OPMHS. Providing high-level strategic expertise, specialist advice, and support to the Directors - OPMHS and relevant senior staff in relation to clinical standards, education and training, and the management of significant day-to-day clinical and service-related issues. Assist the Group Director in the oversight of relevant human, financial, and physical resources. Details of appointment: Permanent full-time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $144,146 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type. Benefits available to eligible candidates: Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full-time for three years or more, on top of the relocation allowance already available. Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate. Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post-graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital-based program that led to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or the United Kingdom. Current Working with Vulnerable People (NDIS endorsed) registration. *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment.
