Job Description
Our global technology client is seeking a highly skilled and self-sufficient Statutory & Tax Controller to join their dynamic finance team. This role is ideal for a well-rounded individual with a strong ability to manage ambiguity and provide leadership in financial and tax compliance. You will work across Tier 1 Australian entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and other essential financial controls. Key Responsibilities: Oversee legal entity P&L and balance sheet integrity. Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including monthly, half-yearly, and yearly closing processes. Ensure accurate statutory records and timely preparation of annual financial statements in compliance with local GAAP, US GAAP, and statutory matters. Review accounting policy changes and assess their statutory and tax implications. Oversee statutory risk management, escalating risks to relevant stakeholders as per policy. Identify opportunities for process standardisation and automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual workloads. Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, while managing audits from local tax authorities and government agencies. Manage external advisor relationships in relation to statutory accounting, tax compliance, and advisory. Contribute to cash management and forecasting activities. Ensure compliance with other government reporting obligations for the subsidiary. Required Skills & Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience in a similar role. Degree qualified in finance, business, accounting, or a related discipline. Strong understanding of IFRS/US GAAP and accounting principles. Expertise in tax compliance and financial reporting. Proficiency in the use of accounting software and systems. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
