About the Role: Curtin University invites applications for the role of a Stores Officer at our Bentley Campus. This is a full-time position that plays a key role in the operation of a stores facility that provides staff and students with general purpose and specialist items such as chemicals, dangerous goods and laboratory equipment consumables. Your responsibilities will include: Coordinate purchasing of chemical and laboratory consumables and ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained. Maintain storage facilities and ensure that delivered goods (including chemicals) and equipment are checked, catalogued, stored and secured in accordance with the University and school procedures. Follow University procurement procedures and policies for sourcing supplies, ensuring the most favourable price and terms are obtained, goods are available at the required time and place, and that they meet quality requirements and specifications. Expedite orders with suppliers and raise all necessary transaction details in the procurement portal, attaching related documentation to ensure transparency and accuracy. Ensure the chemical handling and storage complies with occupational health and safety requirements. Undertake other activities which the incumbent might reasonably be expected to do, and which are consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities as listed above. Who we are looking for: Proven experience maintaining and coordinating technical stores, particularly with items such as chemicals and dangerous goods is essential for this position. Ability to operate a Walkie Stacker Forklift or be willing to undertake the relevant training (this is not required if you obtain a Forklift Licence) . Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks within a dynamic environment. A demonstrated knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety as applied to handling of chemicals and dangerous goods. Ideally, you will be First Aid trained or willing to undertake the training.
