This is a permanent role based at our Brisbane (West End) office. About the QNMU The Queensland Nurses and Midwives' Union (QNMU) is the industrial and professional organisation for nurses and midwives working in public and private health and aged care in Queensland. The QNMU seeks to promote and defend the industrial, professional, social, political, and democratic interests of over 75,000 members. We have over 200 employees including organisers, professionals and administrative personnel, and manage a multi-million dollar operating budget. Why is the role exciting? Reporting to the Director, People, Strategy and Research, you will deliver and coordinate the Union’s strategy and operations and determine strengths, weaknesses, operational effectiveness and opportunities for improvement. In this role, we are looking for a high performing Project Management Office (PMO) Manager experienced in business improvement processes and high-level strategic concepts. The role identifies, recommends, and executes initiatives that minimise risks and formulates plans to achieve long-term goals, including organisational growth and stability. The Strategy and PMO Manager will work with the Senior Leadership team and Line Managers to ensure that strategic plans and organisational improvement targets are achieved. We are looking for some specific skills and experience to fulfill this position: Significant experience in senior project management/ project management office roles which have a focus on business improvement processes. Experience synthesising and operationalising high level strategic and theoretical concepts. Ability to analyse and improve people management functions and processes. Significant experience in complex enterprise level change management, organisational development and workforce planning. Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead team members. Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with strong influencing capability. Expert level skills in program and project management. Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, including data analysis and data modelling. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills.
