Sought out for our in-depth analysis capability and innovative value-adding design and optioneering solutions, D&A’s services extend from detailed bridge design and verification – through to complex investigations, feasibility and load capacity studies for the most technically complex projects. We are experiencing significant growth and looking to expand our high performing team with a newly created structural draftsperson role. This position will suit a passionate structural draftsperson keen to learn and develop their 3D competency from a talented digital team. The Position: Prepare detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and plans for a variety of small, medium and large-scale structural projects. Utilise CAD software to create precise, clear, and organized drawings based on engineering specifications. Collaborate with civil engineers and other team members to interpret project requirements and translate them into draft designs. Assist in the roll out of new CAD standards and corresponding documentation. Ensure all drawings comply with Australian standards, and project-specific requirements including MRWA, PTA and other key client requirements. Revise and update drawings as needed based on feedback from engineers, clients, or project changes. Assist in creating and maintaining a project’s drawing documentation and drawing revisions for easy reference. Perform quality control checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Prepare detailed annotations and specifications for drawings. Support the preparation of construction documents and submittals. Maintain and update project files and archives. Requirements: Diploma or degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in drafting for structural engineering projects. Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation and other relevant drafting software. Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and the ability to interpret engineering plans and specifications. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in creating drawings and ensuring technical precision. Ability to troubleshoot and find solutions for any drafting-related challenges or discrepancies.
