As a vital front-line position, the role involves extensive direct interaction with student residents, ensuring a seamless transition and integration into campus life. Supporting the needs of a diverse residential cohort of undergraduate and postgraduate students residing on our main campus, you will facilitate a welcoming environment, fostering partnerships with students, actively addressing health and wellbeing concerns, aiding academic achievement, and providing prompt and compassionate responses to student inquiries and issues. The Student Housing Duty Manager provides support for academic guidance, leadership development and community engagement activities. This encompasses promoting cross-community sports, cultural events, and proactive wellness and monitoring initiatives to help students integrate and connect with the community. About the person The ideal candidate will have: A degree and at least three years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a student-facing or duty manager / pastoral care role. Demonstrated expertise in Mental Health First Aid and a strong commitment to supporting mental well-being. Excellent communication skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels. Proven leadership abilities and strong problem-solving skills. Background in delivering outstanding customer service. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently. First Aid certification and experience in multicultural environments. Holds a current blue card and understands Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) regulations. This role involves shift work, including weekends, with standard hours from 15:00 to 23:00. Flexibility is essential as hours may change according to operational needs. Salary details The salary for the position commences at $80,787.14 per annum, plus 12% superannuation. In addition, the salary will attract applicable shift penalty rates.
