The Thunderbird Mineral Sands Project (Thunderbird) is located mid-way between Derby and Broome, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Thunderbird is one of the largest and highest-grade zircon mineral sands deposits in the world and contains valuable heavy minerals including ilmenite, zircon, leucoxene, and rutile, which are extracted and exported via the Port of Broome. Our head office is based in Broome, and together we are focused on delivering economic and social benefits for the West Kimberley and its communities. About the Role This site-based role reporting to the Manager Process Operations , is an exciting opportunity for a Superintendent Maintenance to join our growing mining company. This role is responsible for providing engineering support for all processing activities to ensure overall operational goals, strategic direction and objectives of KMS are achieved. The role will establish and sustain key reliability and engineering systems and processes, while leading and coaching a high-performance team. Location & Roster Options: We have a strong preference for the preferred candidate to reside in the West Kimberley region , with relocation and living allowances provided. However, for the right candidate, FIFO from Perth will be considered. West Kimberley Resident Roster: 5 days on, 2 off, 4 days on, 3 off (Bus in, Bus out from Broome) Perth Resident Roster: 9 days on, 5 days off (Fly in, Fly out) Key Responsibilities Establish standardised measuring, monitoring and reporting systems for plant performance and provide strategies and tactics to continuously improve plant reliability Assist with Root Cause Analysis processes into failures and provide improvement actions, monitoring the implementation of those actions Provide input into the development of operational and capital budgets Complete end of month reporting on operation activities and progress Scope, project manage and implement reliability engineering and capital projects About You Hold a current WA C-Class driver’s licence Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role Strong maintenance and reliability experience in fixed plant Experience in project management and engineering design Demonstrated capital project experience Strong leadership and management skills, with a can do attitude Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team Experience in the implementation of reliability engineering processes and tools Competent in the operation of SAP S4 Hana About the Benefits In addition to joining our values focused team , you would also be eligible for the following benefits: If based in the West Kimberley you will receive Housing & Living Allowances, relocation support and 5 weeks annual leave Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion KMS is committed to advancing an inclusive and diverse workforce culture and environment where people feel comfortable to be themselves.
