About the Role We are currently seeking experienced Supervisors for the role of Supervisor Rail Grinding within the Rail Network Maintenance team, reporting to the Asset Integrity Superintendent. This position will be working on a roster of 8 days on / 6 days off, 7 nights / 7 days off. Your responsibilities will include: An overriding commitment to health, safety and environment within Rail Supporting the health, wellbeing and sustainable development of team members Set a leading example of step up behaviour, by developing staff, managing risk, problem solving and achieving results. As a BHP Responsible Person, ensure compliance with the requirements of the Rail Safety Act, Occupational Safety and Health Act and BHP Procedure 0149234 (Responsible Person). Drive an inclusive and diverse culture Lead and coach teams in the BOS Principles and Practices Lead and coach teams in identifying and implementing improvement opportunities Build and maintain relationships across departments to achieve positive outcomes Execute the maintenance plan for the week, with an aim to execute work to the day Review weekly schedules to ensure compliance to work management expectations Support the strategic direction of Asset Integrity Strong commitment to the field leadership program and coach field leadership activities About You The successful candidate will have the following attributes: Strong safety leadership skills and history of field leadership participation Be process driven Previous experience supervising a service contractor team Grinding experience / Ultra sonic experience / engineering experience Previous experience with the BHP Operating System Experienced in 1SAP work management Ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Leadership experience in leading and developing teams High level of discretion and complete respect for confidentiality Location You will be based at Port Hedland on a fly-in fly-out 8D6X7N7X roster from Perth. Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO villages include a fully equipped gym, TV lounge, and games rooms. Additionally, you will have access to the state-of-the-art aquatic and sporting facilities in the town of Port Hedland. All rooms at the villages have their own en-suite bathroom, television, refrigerator, and air-conditioning.
