Be among the first 25 applicants LGPro is hiring a Support Officer in the Sector Engagement team to take an active role in administering LGPro's membership programs, corporate partners and sponsorship, Special Interest Group Network, events and awards. About the Sector Engagement team The purpose of the Sector Engagement team is to design, implement and administer an active calendar of activities and networks that engages local government professionals in high-quality professional development opportunities where they can improve their skills, confidence, knowledge and resilience in the Victorian sector. The Sector Engagement team designs, implements and administers LGPro’s membership programs, sponsorship, and Special Interest Group Network that positions LGPro as the key Victorian membership organisation for Victorian local government professionals. The Sector Engagement team supports members and the wider Victorian sector by frequently engaging and communicating, ensuring that member and sector needs are met, future needs are identified and ensuring LGPro’s relevance by adapting to changing needs and priorities in the sector. The Sector Engagement team demonstrates innovation and creativity in the timely delivery of activities and networks and works collaboratively and positively with all LGPro staff. The team's responsibilities cover: Council subscriptions and individual memberships Corporate Partnership membership and sponsorship Victorian heats of the Management Challenge Primary responsibilities Working with our members and other stakeholders, the Support Officer Sector Engagement will take an active role in administering the membership programs, corporate partners and sponsorship, Special Interest Group Network, events and awards. In order to achieve the objectives of the position, some travel within Melbourne and Victoria will be required and may, by virtue of distance, necessitate some overnight stays. The position will: Provide administrative support in achieving LGPro’s strategic priorities identified in the Strategic Plan and the Sector Engagement Plan. Assist in event planning and coordination of Sector Engagement team activities, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met. Assist the Sector Engagement Director with initiating and facilitating partnership opportunities with corporate partners to deliver and grow high quality membership value for the sector. Coordinate corporate partner meetings and maintain corporate partner engagement records. Assist the Sector Engagement Director with member feedback and mapping the member experience. Administer applications for memberships and Special Interest Group Network. Coordinate Special Interest Group meetings with convenors. Assist in continually reviewing and enhancing existing events and services to introduce valuable, new events and services to meet member and sector demands. Ensure that all interaction with members and prospective members promotes LGPro in a professional and positive light. Actively promote LGPro membership, events and professional development. Maintain and update databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Other duties as directed. Organisational relationships Reporting to the Sector Engagement Director, the position is required to work closely and positively with all staff, Board members, members and all other people involved with and in the work of LGPro.
