Visit our website or YouTube channel to learn more. The Role Climate change is a major challenge in maintaining access to safe and affordable water and sewerage services. We are reliant on the weather, the water cycle, and our natural environment to provide essential services to our communities. We also recognise that as one of the state's largest organisations, we impact the environment through our operations and services. We are looking for someone to join our team of passionate professionals to guide us in reducing our contribution to climate change, improving the resilience of our assets and operations to climate change impacts, and utilising circular economy practices so we can continue to make a positive difference to Tasmania. You may focus on climate change adaptation, circular economy, or climate change mitigation with the opportunity to work with your team on joint projects across the diverse range of sustainability challenges facing our business and community. Your team will be working to: Improve our understanding of the impacts of climate change on our business and our communities, including preparing material for the new Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards. Improve our resilience to climate events. Ensure we are responsible environmental stewards and that we are doing what we can to improve the environment through our operations. Implement our environment blueprint, including implementing the circular economy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions to deliver better outcomes. What we're looking for You don't need to be experienced across all aspects of sustainability and climate change. We are interested in hearing from people with experience in and passion for any of the following: climate change adaptation, circular economy, resource management, waste reduction strategies, greenhouse gas emissions reduction strategies or sustainability initiatives. The Details We have one permanent full-time opportunity and can consider two part-time roles (at least 0.5 FTE) that can be based in Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport. The position offers flexible work patterns, flexible start and finish times, and hybrid work arrangements. The total remuneration package for this position ranges from $124,474 - $152,134 per annum (including superannuation), negotiable dependent on experience.
