Job Description

Job Description The role of Power System Application Developer is aimed to develop the required features and functionalities for Power and Energy System & Market Operation area. The Power System Application Developer will support in developing, customizing and enhancing the features as per the business requirements from internal stakeholders in carrying out routine Grid Operations and Grid Security & Reliability Analysis. The role will aim to develop the customized features and enhancements on top of GE’s e-Terra stacks of applications for Australian Energy System Operator. The role will bring the mix of sound knowledge of development skills and understanding of power system operations for maintaining the grid in a secured and reliable manner. Mandatory skills/experience Development of new features, customization of existing applications and enhancement to existing platform with skill sets required as listed below: Essential Technical and Product Skillsets: Strong hands-on experience in developing power system analytical modules and features using C++ and Python . Sound knowledge and understanding of GE’s e-Terra technology stack along with working of its components, requirements of interfaces, data exchange requirements within its components, data pipelines and their interdependencies. Strong hands-on experience of 7 to 10 years in developing advanced features, enhancements, and customization on top of e-Terra suite of applications including high availability applications such as Contingency Analysis, Stability Analysis, State Estimation and Power Flow to meet in-house business requirements. Strong ability to build real-time interfaces using APIs, Message Queues (Rabbit MQ, Kafka etc) and data pipelines for customizations and enhancements into e-Terra suite of applications. Preferred Functional Skillsets: Sound understanding of Power System Modelling. Ability to investigate power system scenarios and issues with applications like real-time security and reliability analysis, short term and long-term adequacy analysis and real-time operations to bring necessary changes, customization and enhancements into software and coding. Generic Skillsets: Ability to coordinate with internal stakeholders such as Modelling Teams, System Operations, and System Planning Teams to understand the business requirements. Create and maintain quality documentation for customizations, enhancements, and new features being developed. Desired skills/experience: Master’s/bachelor’s degree in electrical/Power/Electronics Engineering. Timely delivery of project and business-related customization, enhancements on top of e-Terra software packages for various applications for System security, reliability, stability analysis. Sound knowledge of grid system operations, Grid security and reliability, Network Modelling is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
