System Engineer (m/f/d)

Job Description

What the job is about As a System Engineer you will maintain the current infrastructure and applications. This means that you will oversee networks, workstations, servers & hardware, support of users, implementation, and management of internal software systems, with different functionalities (all over the world). You will have 5 years of experience as a System Engineer , supporting teams with IT-related tasks while also assisting our SYS team with larger projects. You are an allrounder with strong skills in Windows, Linux and Ansible, or currently completing a Linux course. Solid understanding of TCP/IP, addressing, subnetting, ports and vlans. It is second nature for you to prioritize projects / tasks / other workflows and enjoy the creation of processes & teaching of complex systems. Whilst gathering project requirements you enjoy writing business cases from identifying the needs to presentation of completed costings. Undertake the management of IT contracts & maintenance agreements. Experience in troubleshooting of hardware and managing support process with external contractors. Previous exposure to working in Data centres and remotely with smart hands. Familiar with VMWare in create, configure, snapshot, decommission virtual machines, & networking and management of existing machines. Certification or familiarity with Azure, O365 and Azure Active Directory. Familiarity with IT security policies and processes. Enjoy working within IT Team, having regular feedback/consulting sessions with other offices and providing technical consulting to our customers. You like to take initiative and being innovative feels like your second nature. Working independently does not scare you and you find accuracy and quality as important as we do. You can express yourself fluently in English . Furthermore, we’d love to see the following things reflected in your profile: You have a Bachelor or Master's degree in IT or equivalent or a solid background in this matter. With strong knowledge in the following areas: Linux & Ansible - Shell script, Patching, troubleshooting Windows Server management including patching Powershell or similar scripting languages Network Management – Zabbix in creating hosts, monitors & maps VEEAM - Backup, Disaster Recovery, & Data Management Database - MSSQL / Postgres / Oracle Application Server – Jboss / IIS / Legacy / Websphere Ticketing – JIRA, WIKI - confluence Security Systems – configuration / monitoring Firewall – configuration / troubleshooting Contribution to the security policy and execution accordingly Desktop support Candidates must possess AU Citizenship, AU PR or have OWN pathway to PR - sponsorship or visa nomination is not available.
