Education (Organisation site)Darling Downs South West Region, School and Regional Operations and Performance Division Goondiwindi State High School requires a Teacher Aide to work as part of our Student Support Team.This position relates to SWD hours and includes working with students at the High School (Years 7 to 12) associated with our Student Support Centre either in the Centre or in the students' classroom. The position may require manual transfers and lifting, toileting, diabetes management, bus duty and assisting students with their specific requirements.This is a part-time position (0.79FTE), 30 hours per week - hours will be spread over three days. About the School We are a rural school of approximately 500 students and 85 teaching and ancillary staff, located on the Queensland-New South Wales border, four hours south-west of Brisbane.The Year 7 to 12 curriculum is designed to provide diverse pathways through productive community and industry partnerships and innovative challenges, to create lifelong learners and active citizens. About the Role Responsibilities include: Assisting teachers and students with sporting activities and school excursions. Assisting with the management and stocktaking of equipment and resources. Communicating effectively and displaying a high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member. Maintaining anecdotal records on students for use in reviewing students' development. Displaying respect and empathy for students with high-level needs. Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability, and sensitivity to students and their families. Compiling and supervising class rolls. Clerical assistance duties including typing teachers' notes and work programs, duplicating and photocopying teaching materials, checking bus lists, collating and duplicating exam papers, recording examination results, compiling students' results records, and assisting in organizing off-site activities. Assisting in the supervision of educational activities, under the direction of a teacher. Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position. Interested?
