About the Role This position is responsible for leading the City Activation team in the planning, coordination, and delivery of a diverse range of community and commercial events, as well as public activation activities across the City of Parramatta. The role involves managing event operations, working closely with stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality activations that enhance the reputation of Parramatta as a vibrant and dynamic city. On a daily basis, you will: Lead the City Activation team in the delivery of community events, markets, city activation programs, and commercial functions. Assist with the development and execution of high-profile events such as NYE, Australia Day, and Parramatta Lanes. Liaise with third-party hirers of public domain spaces and manage complex community and commercial bookings. Develop strategic partnerships with local businesses, community groups, and stakeholders to drive participation and engagement in events. Oversee the management of event risks and ensure all required documentation is completed and processes are followed. Provide leadership, support, and professional development to team members. Manage event budgets and contribute to the unit's financial planning. About You The successful candidate should have previous experience in event management, with a strong background in leading teams and managing complex projects. You will also bring: Tertiary qualifications in Event Management, Project Management, Marketing, or Communications. Over 5 years of experience in event management and a proven track record in achieving strategic objectives. Strong leadership and team management experience, including the ability to lead a diverse team and manage multiple stakeholders. Demonstrated knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for large-scale events. Exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills. What’s on offer We are offering an attractive remuneration from $125,996.69 to $138,699.50 plus 11.5% superannuation.
