The Role Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the role will see you lead the maintenance team to ensure maintenance services are provided to the Mt Isa Acid Plant, to achieve plant reliability safely, efficiently and sustainably. You will also be responsible for: Health & Safety: Ensuring compliance with IPL safety rules, risk management, and statutory requirements while maintaining high operational standards. Short-Term Planning: Supporting weekly maintenance schedules by prioritizing tasks, allocating resources, and ensuring seamless execution. Long-Term Planning: Overseeing shutdown preparations, ensuring correct resourcing, scope definition, and task sequencing for optimal performance. Reliability: Identifying and mitigating risks, optimizing maintenance strategies, and driving continuous improvement to enhance plant efficiency. People Management & Leadership: Leading and supporting your team, managing resources effectively, and ensuring a high-performance culture. What you’ll bring You’ll be a trade-qualified Fitter with strong leadership experience in mining or chemical manufacturing. Your hands-on expertise includes maintaining pumps, valves, compressors, turbines, and more. We’re looking for people who are proactive and results-driven, have a strong focus on safety and quality work and thrive in an environment where you will be required to build strong working relationships with people at all levels. You will also have: Certificate III as a Fitter and Turner EWP Ticket 5 Years trade experience and 2 years leadership within mining/chemical manufacturing SAP or similar CMMS experience If you are excited about the role and think you have what it takes but your experience doesn’t align 100% we still want to hear from you. The facilities comprise of ammonia, beneficiation, phosphoric acid, granulation, and sulphuric acid plants plus infrastructure, utilities, power generation, and housing to support the permanent workforce.
