About this position The City is committed to providing attractive, safe and well-maintained parks, public places and natural areas for passive and active recreation while protecting and conserving the natural environment. An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated professional to lead a small team in the establishment and maintenance of horticultural landscapes, including turf and synthetic sports surfaces, to a high standard. In this role, you will Provide horticultural technical expertise to support team members Plan and implement maintenance schedules while prioritising safety Operate and maintain equipment Train, motivate and manage team performance, fostering collaboration and adherence to the City values and safety practices Address and resolve on-the-job issues as they arise What we are looking for To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate: Significant experience in a horticultural maintenance leadership role Strong ability to work effectively and contribute to a productive team Excellent interpersonal skills for positive and courteous customer interactions Solid problem-solving skills to address complex horticultural and parks operations issues Certificate III or higher in Horticulture or equivalent Current MR driver's licence White Card National Police Clearance (no more than three months old). Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
