Our Purpose: Grow Townsville Our Values: Safety, Excellence, Respect, Value, Enjoyment About the Role The Team Leader Payments and Business Improvement will lead and manage the delivery of Council’s expense payment functions and lead business improvement initiatives across financial services. This includes: Lead Council’s payment functions ensuring compliance oversight in relation to the applicable legislation and council policy/procedures to minimise program and operational risk in relation to procurement activities. Work closely with senior management and key stakeholders to identify transformational opportunities that drive continuous improvements and development across Council. Drive innovation by exploring new ideas, technologies, and processes to improve products, services, and operations. It is anticipated that the role will contribute to the implementation of Council’s new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems reflecting innovative practices for business improvement. About You Our ideal candidate will have: Bachelor of Business (accounting) or similar relevant qualification CA or CPA membership Demonstrated experience in collaborating with business stakeholders to understand their business/process goals and objectives, and fully clarify their needs. Demonstrated highly developed knowledge and understanding of enterprise-wide software used across financial services including process automation and OCR. Demonstrated experience in leading a high performing team with varying qualifications and experience including conducting training, coaching, and mentoring. Strong business and financial acumen including demonstrated knowledge and experience in providing high level financial and process advice to support a complex business. Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a broad range of projects based on groups of multi-disciplinary professionals in a complex environment.
