The role As the Team Leader Petroleum Environment, you will be responsible for providing specialist and technical advice to the department’s executive, petroleum and energy sector, general public and industry organisations in relation to various legislative acts. You will provide supervision to the team of environment officers, coordinate inspections/compliance assessments, and monitor performance of petroleum approvals for compliance with environmental regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will work on implementing best practice environmental regulation, including improvement and change in management approaches, leading the team of Environmental Officers, and developing internal governance measures to ensure compliance with reporting standards and protocols. Your skills and experience in enforcement activities aligned with the department’s procedures, responding to complex regulatory requests, and providing transparency in the environmental approval process will be key to your success in this role.
