You'll play a vital role in supporting Children and Young People living in Out-of-Home Care in our therapeutic, rural and acreage-based properties, where we focus on a technology-reduced model of care. As a Team Leader, you will oversee the delivery of care services to Children and Young People in a residential setting. You will manage a team of Youth Workers and Senior Youth Workers, supporting Children and Young People with challenging behaviors to achieve their social, educational, cultural, and emotional goals. You will build genuine connections with our Young People, supporting them to safely engage in community activities and develop social networks. You will assist in managing trauma and pain-based behaviors, carry out daily tasks, and complete all mandatory reporting. By following the organisation’s goals, policies, and procedures, you will contribute to shared, outcome-focused efforts. In addition to supporting our Young People, you will mentor and support your team of Youth Workers and Senior Youth Workers. This includes providing on-call phone support, being flexible to attend shifts if needed, and conducting regular supervisions and career development planning. You will use your experience as a passionate, resilient, and dedicated Team Leader to help your team achieve organizational goals and support their career development. Daily tasks may consist of: Develop support plans including positive behaviour plans and progress reports Assess and promote Young People’s development Liaise and report to Stakeholders to provide information, assist with plans and ensure outcomes Develop activity plans for the Young Person and support community engagement Safely support behaviours using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Ensure allocation and maintenance of rosters for Team Members, completion of timesheets Management and responsibility of all resources associated to the placement Facilitate team meetings and Team Member supervisions including delegation and performance management Lead and mentor Team Members to support their professional development and promotion Report to the Board as required Able to fill in the role of a Youth Worker/Team Member when on shift with our Young People Desired Skills and Experience Significant experience working directly with Children, Young People and their Families in a Case Management, Team Leader or Senior Support capacity Demonstrated experience in mentoring and supporting a team in a management role Experience working with Children and Young People with complex and challenging needs and behaviours Be able to prioritise and work under pressure to specific timeframes and targets Have the ability and flexibility to meet the needs of the organisation Obtained minimum Diploma in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent OR obtained minimum Cert IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent PLUS Cert IV in a leadership qualification Approved Licensed Care Service (LSC) check through the department, or willingness to obtain Open and current Australian Drivers Licence Current Blue Card Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including documentation, organisational and reporting Be able to provide two recent professional references Understanding of trauma-informed practice Previous Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training Completed Hope & Healing modules Current Licensed Care Service (LCS) check through The Department Flexible, adaptive, and open to learning #J-18808-Ljbffr
