Role Overview The Team Manager - Managed Services role is responsible for leading a team in providing courteous and efficient front-line support within their allocated area of expertise. The main function of this role is to oversee the day-to-day activities, manage the personnel and coordinate resourcing within their department. The Team Manager has wide-ranging experience and this role involves using professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Role Responsibilities The Team Manager - Managed Services is responsible for (but not limited to): Managing the day-to-day operations and project delivery for the team. Ensuring that planning, end-user impact, change management, training and quality management are properly utilised and monitored to ensure that availability, deadlines, budgets and service levels are met, and results are delivered. Ensuring the operation of the division is in accordance with the established procedures and practices. Overseeing the services of the relevant team. Supporting and assisting with related organisational changes and activities that are required as an outcome of business improvement activities and ensure ongoing effectiveness of the organisation’s change management function. Managing and providing system support, pro-actively managing the systems and infrastructure to meet business needs. Providing/co-ordinating implementation of solution requests required by projects. Recommending strategies and/or hardware/software enhancements to efficiently improve employee productivity. Monitoring performance of support personnel, reviewing relevant KPI’s and trends to drive efficiency and improvements which will benefit our customers and our employees. Recruiting, developing and evaluating personnel to ensure efficient operational delivery to our customers and against our contractual obligations and demonstrate Datacom’s commitment to their professional development. Responsible for implementing a principle driven health and safety culture that cares for employees and ensures their safety in line with Datacom policy. Takes reasonable care that their actions (or inactions) do not harm the Health and Safety of self or others. Reports all incidents, hazards or unsafe work practices as per Datacom policy. Requirements Knowledge Specialist technical knowledge of relevant industry. Strong understanding of emerging technologies and trends in their industry and their potential commercial application. A clear understanding of financial management practices with a good understanding of the relationship between costs, utilisation and project revenue. Broad and deep understanding of technical infrastructure projects and related technology dependencies. Demonstrate understanding and implementation of Enablement disciplines. Experience Experience in managing people and teams. 3+ years of related experience. Working within Tier 2 Service Provider. Previous leadership experience. Skills Demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to work within targets and deadlines and with minimum supervision. Excellent customer relationship building and management skills. Good oral and written communication skills with a wide variety of stakeholders. People management within a shift environment. Ability to identify and report ongoing opportunities for service improvement. Exercises judgement within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Ability to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements. Prevents erroneous decisions to avoid critical delay(s) in schedules. Ability to frequently interact and network with subordinates, supervisors and functional peer groups. Proven negotiating skills. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong influencing and persuasive ability. Effective presentation skills and ability to convey technical information concerning specific projects or schedules. Strong consultative and planning skills. Ability to escalate with a solution focus.
