Academic Support Unit, Sunshine Coast Campus, Sippy Downs and Moreton Bay Campus, Petrie $48.82 per hour, plus up to 11.5% employer superannuation Two casual opportunities available The Opportunity In this role, you will be responsible for preparing solutions, aliquoting samples, labelling labware, setting up and dismantling practicals, restocking consumables, and cleaning equipment and lab fixtures. You will support method development, maintain laboratory equipment and facilities, ensure adherence to safety protocols, and uphold WHS compliance within the teaching laboratories. You will: liaise with and assist Technicians (Science) to prepare and set up experiments for teaching activities within the laboratories and wet tutorial rooms; clean up and pack up completed experiments within the laboratories and wet tutorial rooms; routine housekeeping and maintenance of teaching equipment, laboratories and auxiliary facilities; prepare and maintain stock levels of simple, frequently used solutions; comply with WHS policies and procedures, including work instructions, safe handling and storage of chemicals, biologicals, waste and risk management; and contribute to a positive and safe work environment for you and others, by modelling and promoting conduct that is culturally capable, inclusive, respectful, and ethical. About you: Your dedication to exceptional client service, coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills, will be crucial to your success. You will thrive in managing competing demands within a client-focused, fast-paced academic environment. Additionally, your ability to work both independently and collaboratively will help foster a positive and productive team atmosphere. To be successful you will possess: completion of a relevant associate diploma; previous work experience in providing a range of technical/laboratory support in teaching and/or research activities; and working knowledge of and the ability to follow and comply with work instructions, policies, guidelines and legislation relevant to laboratory work health and safety requirements.
