About the Role: Be a leading practitioner and take responsibility for: Ensuring that technical requirements are defined, developed, captured, and aligned to fulfill customer needs and project requirements. Ensuring that system architectures are developed in line with approved specifications, quality standards, and within approved frameworks. Ensuring, in conjunction with the Engineering Manager or Engineering Lead, that all engineering artefacts are developed, reviewed, and approved by the appropriately qualified personnel. Conducting technical review and approval of engineering design artefacts (including design documents, drawings, plans, user manuals, and training materials). Ensuring that design artefacts and baselines are correctly captured in the approved engineering tools with the approved engineering processes. Raising Technical Governance issues with the Project and with the Chief Technical Authority. Ensuring, in conjunction with the Engineering Manager or Engineering Lead, that potential technical issues and risks are identified and advising on potential mitigation plans and strategies to ensure successful project completion. Transferring technical knowledge, expertise, and best practices to engineering team members. Additional Duties: Participating in tender support activities. Providing technical leadership and expertise to peers and engineering team members for assigned relevant domain, product, or area of competence. Extensive and substantial practical knowledge and experience in system engineering, preferably in a communications environment. Leading practitioner in requirements definition and system validation. Practitioner and practical experience in system architectures, integration & interfaces, and verification & validation of communication systems. Good understanding and experience in the application of engineering processes and tools. Experience and product knowledge of radio communications and IP-based voice switching systems and associated technologies. Highly structured approach to tasks and activities. Advanced communications skills, including the ability to negotiate required outcomes to meet project objectives. Foster and demonstrate personal accountability and commitment. Foster and demonstrate personal agility by adapting flexibly to new situations, pursuing new paths, and learning from mistakes. Drive team success through collaboration, achieving results reliably, with broad perspective, initiative, pragmatism, and persistence. Lead customer interactions.
