Technical Data Business Analyst – Energy We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Data Business Analyst to support a critical data migration project as part of a function transfer initiative. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the timely, efficient, and seamless transfer of all relevant data and system assets required to meet its obligations. The primary objective of this project is to migrate all necessary data from various platforms, systems, and applications used by VIC TNSP, including SharePoint, O365, and local storage. WHAT’S ON OFFER MELBOURNE CBD based. $850.00 a day Inclusive of superannuation. Must be an Australian Citizen. 6-month rolling day rate contract. THE ROLE: As a Technical Business Analyst , you will work closely with key stakeholders across both business and technical teams to facilitate the end-to-end data migration process. Your responsibilities will include: Leading the data migration process to ensure accuracy, consistency, and data integrity. Collaborating with technical teams to understand data sources, structures, and dependencies. Conducting requirements gathering, process analysis, data mapping, and documentation. Facilitating workshops with business users to identify critical data sets and access requirements. Supporting the development and execution of migration strategies, including validation and reconciliation activities. Coordinating with the Project Manager to track progress, report risks/issues, and manage stakeholder expectations. Documenting business processes, technical specifications, and data requirements. Ensuring adherence to data governance standards and project timelines. Participating in testing activities to validate the successful migration of data. Acting as a key liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst on large-scale data migration projects. Strong understanding of data management principles, including data mapping, ETL processes, and data validation. Familiarity with cloud-to-cloud migrations and experience with tools like SharePoint, O365, and other cloud-based platforms. Proficient in eliciting and documenting business and technical requirements. Experience in facilitating workshops, interviews, and meetings to capture requirements and validate findings. Solid understanding of data governance, compliance, and security standards. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach. Hands-on experience with process mapping, gap analysis, and solution design. Preferred Tools & Technologies: SharePoint, O365, and cloud-based data platforms. Data migration tools and ETL frameworks. JIRA, Confluence, and other Agile delivery tools.
