About the role: As a Technical Delivery Platform Engineering Manager, this role has a post-sales focus on the delivery, performance, maintenance and growth of the customers' technical solution. It is a hybrid mix of hands-on technical engineering, implementation of customer innovation and enhancement work, consultancy, and service governance. This key role provides proactive Technical Delivery management and Leadership to designated customers to deliver to customers’ needs and contractual commitments, overseeing the delivery of the services while working closely with account management, solutions, delivery, and capability teams within NCS. The Technical Delivery Platform Engineering Manager is the customer advocate within the business for the managed services we deliver, ensuring the supporting teams are clear of the customers’ needs and support requirements. As a respected Managed Services specialist, the role supports our customer operational requirements and is viewed as a critical role by customers. It is essential that the incumbent understands the technology market and client needs to deliver relevant and leading managed services and solutions. Responsibilities: Identify business opportunities (sales, optimisation, and cost reductions) in the customer’s environment and work closely with the Markets team to design and execute solutions that add value to the customer’s business. Use Incident and Problem Management techniques to drive technical resolver groups in the resolution, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions to ensure performance levels are met and exceeded and customer expectations are managed. Oversee ongoing change management to ensure the operational solution remains appropriate, suitable, and adequate according to the Agreement. Provide E2E technical management, leadership, and direction to internal service and technical representatives on the development, operation, and maintenance of the customers’ services infrastructure. Support and add value to customer-driven technology outcomes. Maintain architecture, design, and roadmaps of in-scope services and systems in alignment with tactical and strategic NCS and customer objectives. Manage vendor performance on technical issues; answer complex technical questions and remain proficient in the customer solution. Qualifications: About you: Strong hands-on background in Platform Engineering/Cloud Engineering. Deep understanding of GCP services and their capabilities, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Cloud Networking, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and more. Understanding of GCP Architecture. Experience in Python or Terraform. Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Experience in Data Engineering, Data Security, and Data Architecture. Previous Consulting experience and dealing with clients directly. Challenges: Managing internal and external stakeholders who often have different sets of concerns. Balancing customer and business needs across competing priorities. Working within a team environment comprised of diverse roles to ensure the customer sees a cohesive, customer-focused, and high-value Managed Service. Ability to stay abreast of emerging products across industries, reading and interpreting the evolving technical needs of the market. Managing conflicting high-impact incidents concurrently across multiple customers. Operate in complex and demanding technical environments that require tight timelines and budgetary constraints. Initiate and manage projects as required to achieve customer performance optimisation while maintaining commercial integrity of the account and optimal contracted performance. Represent customer technical requirements and business drivers into the business and translate them into technology-based solutions. Translate proposed technical solutions into required customer benefits for largely non-technical senior customer management.
