Technical Director, Buildings & Social Infrastructure – Pacific Partnerships About Pacific Partnerships Pacific Partnerships is a member of the CIMIC Group, Australia’s largest diversified infrastructure group (revenue $15bn, work in hand $31bn and liquidity $4bn). Pacific leads the development of, invests in and manages infrastructure concession and renewable energy assets, leveraging the group’s financial strength and diverse capabilities. Pacific’s role spans the origination, finance, design, construction and long-term operations and maintenance of critical infrastructure including under public private partnership (PPP) model and renewable energy projects. About the Role This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team, as we look for a Technical Director, Buildings & Social Infrastructure to lead the integration of construction, operation, maintenance and services, drive owner/operator-led technical outcomes and whole of life costs optimization. The Technical Director can be located in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne and is a role in which you will: Participate in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities and develop the analysis required to consolidate new revenue streams for existing projects. Support the asset development and delivery approval processes and other internal governance activities. Manage all technical aspects of social infrastructure/accommodation development-phase assets: Develop projects that achieve Commercial and Financial Close. Deliver successful PPP bids. Form strong relationships with D&C/EPC and O&M/FM contractor’s design leads and coordinate their input into Client and secure competitive subcontractor price. Provide technical input into key project contracts such as D&C/EPC and O&M/FM subcontracts. Prepare market suppliers strategy and comparison, negotiate advisors’ mandates. Manage consultants in accordance with project budgets and overall timeframes. Support the development team to successfully develop target assets that maximise value to the Group. About You We are looking for someone who is driven to lead optimal design outcomes that achieve best value and meet Clients' needs. Here are some of the aspects and experiences we are looking for in the successful candidate: Tertiary degree (Bachelor level) qualifications in Civil Engineering or Architecture. 12+ years post-graduate experience. Experience (ideally 5+ years) working in relevant technical roles within social infrastructure. Proven track record in successfully developing buildings, social infrastructure/accommodation assets. Experience managing interfaces with D&C/EPC and O&M/FM contractors during development phases. Experience developing and negotiating optimal technical outcomes for Clients and Stakeholders. Experience in working in Social Infrastructure PPP bids. Knowledge and familiarity with sector regulations and standards. Experience in managing Lender Technical Advisor (LTA) processes to obtain private finance on the projects beneficial. Experience in developing civil/architectural elements of Data Centres (desirable). Ability to synthesize and present technical recommendations with strong business justification. Familiarity with a wide range of new and emerging technologies BIM, Digital twins, etc. Strong commercial and technical skill set with the ability to manage complex project issues. Ability to establish, maintain and manage effective relationships and partnerships with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including influencing and negotiating desired outcomes.
