Job Description We’re looking for a Technical Director – Environment to join our Environmental Impacts and Assessments team.Our Environmental Assessment and Approvals business has maintained strong growth in recent years and is currently one of the largest groups in WA, being a leader in impact assessment and approvals, terrestrial ecology, marine, air and noise assessments services. Our diverse team contributes to a wide variety of projects, with a strategic focus on renewable energy, critical minerals and Defence at a regional, national and global scale.Join us as we strive to ensure a sustainable future for our communities and the world we live in.Become part of our global network of skilled engineers, scientists, auditors, planners and environmental specialists, all working together to leave this world better than we found it.Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Delivery of Environmental Assessment and Approvals projects in accordance with industry standards, relevant Acts, Regulations, and guidelines. Compilation and review of scoping briefs, technical reports, and proposals. Providing technical leadership and recommendations for bids as well as writing and crafting proposals for projects. Leads the development and contributing to proposals in areas of expertise, at times may involve convincing internal and external stakeholders who have a desire to reach agreement. Collaborates with own technical discipline or Service Line within the Region to secure additional projects needed to maintain own team members and personal utilisation. Shares technical information regarding specific Service Line as a feeder into the Business Group business plan. Ongoing development of key-client relationships and strengthening of existing portfolios. Undertake business development activities against business plan actions and revenue targets. Develops the business by maintaining client relationships and ensuring client loyalty and repeat work through excellent customer service and delivery. Being active in the external market to profile GHD's capabilities in the sector and actively builds clients. Developing and maintaining client management systems, with regular contact and meetings with key clients. Communicates and delegates assignments and sets internal deadlines for a project; monitors and reports on progress on assignments until deadline has been met. Has accountability for the performance and results of a project team (who are not permanent direct reports) for the duration of a project and provides feedback to the team members and their Team Leader on their performance and development. What you will bring to the team: Bachelor of Science (Environmental) degree or related field. 15+ years relevant experience (consulting environment preferred). Draws on professional knowledge and best practice to define or diagnose issues or obstacles and define the most effective and efficient solution for moderately complex problems. Client-centric with a passion for engaging with key clients. Well-developed communication skills to facilitate client engagement. Ability to influence with or without formal authority. Interested?
