In this role, you will play a vital part in the preparation and processing of histological specimens, including embedding, sectioning, and staining tissue, while ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Your expertise will contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of the Anatomical Pathology team, supporting critical diagnostic and research outcomes. As part of a dynamic and collaborative team, you will work on a rotational basis across the Main Laboratory, Cut Up Laboratory, and Immunocytochemistry Laboratory, while also providing essential support to The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Mortuary. About You We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a passion for histopathology and a commitment to delivering high-quality laboratory services. To excel in this role, you will need: Technical Expertise & Experience – Strong knowledge and experience in histopathology, particularly in processing and sectioning tissue, with proven ability to carry out histological techniques. Attention to Detail & Problem-Solving Skills – Excellent manual dexterity, the ability to meet deadlines, and a keen eye for identifying problems and developing practical solutions. Teamwork & Communication – A collaborative mindset with strong communication and organisational skills, capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Technology & Adaptability – Competency in using computers and associated software, along with a willingness to learn and apply new technical skills through ongoing training and development.
