About the role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Product Manager to join our dynamic team at Coles. In this pivotal role, you will define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the CFC (Customer Fulfilment Centre) Technology product, aligning it with the broader objectives of Coles and our partnership with Ocado. As a key stakeholder, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all ongoing engagement, ensuring that new requirements across the CFC Technology landscape are effectively managed and delivered. You will work closely with business and technology teams, including our vendor partner, Ocado, to prioritise initiatives and drive the successful delivery of high-impact solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for owning and managing the backlog, ensuring the prioritisation of all initiatives for the CFC Technology team. You will work to build and maintain long-lasting relationships with key business stakeholders, senior leaders, and digital/technology teams. Additionally, you will lead proposal efforts that involve solution design, cost estimation, and resource planning for both new and ongoing development activities. As the primary liaison between internal and external teams, you will ensure that all parties are informed of relevant project updates, decisions, and any potential risks. You will also play a critical role in assisting with the shaping of projects and new developments by locking down scope and building business cases based on business objectives. Collaborating with key stakeholders, you will identify how evolving business needs can be best addressed using existing or new technology systems and solutions. Furthermore, your input will be invaluable in assessing the impact of proposed solutions on business processes and change management efforts. You will contribute to the development of delivery roadmaps, effort estimations, and overall project sizing while providing expert-level guidance on CFC Technology solutions. About You To be successful in this role, you will need proven experience as a Technical Product Manager or in a similar position, ideally within a large-scale retail or technology environment. You should have a strong background in managing product roadmaps, backlogs, and prioritisation within complex, cross-functional teams. Excellent relationship-building skills are essential, with a proven track record of working with senior stakeholders and vendor partners. Your experience delivering technology solutions in fast-evolving environments, with a focus on business impact and change management, will set you apart. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, as is the ability to influence and engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders. About you and your skills Experience in managing relationships with business stakeholders and teams. Experience in project management, project delivery and business change methodologies. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to set and manage client expectations. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Translation and alignment of business strategies into Technology solutions. Strong Customer Focus and proven ability to successfully deliver robust Technology solutions. Demonstrated understanding and experience with a variety of methodologies from Agile to waterfall. Experience serving as the functional subject matter expert on projects based on previous experience and/or the ability to quickly learn and become the resident expert. Organized and structured in written and oral communications with an ability to level the communications appropriately for the target audience (from internal team communications to C-level client presentations). You'll also have Expertise in applicable business processes and applications. Ability to understand business and IT strategy, environment, and trends across multiple functions. Translation and alignment of business strategies into IT solutions. Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve outcomes. Ability to lead and manage a large functional area. Experience in defining and writing functional requirements. Project management and systems development methodologies. Ability to solve difficult technical issues.
