About the Role: We currently have an exciting permanent position for an experienced and motivated Electrical Engineer to apply their engineering expertise and innovation skills to help develop our network of the future. In this role you will play a critical role in the business by producing high quality technical standards and material specifications, ensuring the business complies with the Australian and International standards, as well as relevant government regulations. You will have the opportunity to really drive your technical capabilities through researching, exploring and evaluating innovative new technologies to improve safety, efficiency and reliability for the network. Undertaking this critical technical role, you will work alongside a supportive and knowledgeable team of engineers and provide engineering support and expertise to the wider business in the areas of engineering standards and regulatory compliance. This role will also allow the opportunity to use your project management and highly proficient communication skills in proactive engagement with various groups across the business with a focus on striving towards a safe, efficient and reliable network of the future. In this role you will: Standards & Compliance: Develop and maintain technical standards, material specifications, and compliance tools to ensure safety, reliability, and adherence to regulatory requirements. Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Lead feasibility assessments, business cases, and innovation projects, delivering solutions on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives. Asset Management: Oversee material and equipment specifications, evaluate suppliers, investigate asset failures, and support corrective actions and warranty claims. What You’ll Bring to United Energy: Bachelor of Engineering (mandatory; electrical preferred, other disciplines considered). National Engineering Register and Chartered (CPEng) status (desirable). Expertise in standards for the electricity industry and electrical distribution networks. Skills in project and business management, with financial and commercial acumen. Understanding of regulatory compliance, OHS standards, and customer/Australian Standards. Strong communication skills across teams, business units, and the industry. Extensive power industry experience in design, construction, operations, or manufacturing.
