With a culture of genuine care, a flexible approach to work, and opportunities across the group to grow your career and make a meaningful impact, the possibilities for what we can achieve together are endless.The Opportunity As part of our Risk Tech & Insights Chapter in the Group Risk Platform, the Risk Tech Business Analyst role will contribute to the delivery of the Risk objective that we are confident that we are operating effectively to the Woolworths’ risk appetite, and to the Chapter mission to empower confidence that our risks are being proactively managed and within appetite through automated metrics and actionable insights on the things that matter most. As the Tech BA for Risk, you will play a crucial part in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. You will be responsible for analyzing complex business problems, translating them into detailed technical requirements, and supporting the development and implementation of innovative solutions. The role will also hold a dual responsibility of delivering work through the Chapter and Squads. What you’ll do This role will be responsible for eliciting, documenting, and validating business requirements and translating them into functional and technical specifications for technology solutions, while collaborating with stakeholders, ensuring quality through testing, and contributing to successful project delivery within budget and timeline constraints. The successful candidate will achieve this through an ability to; Gather and document business needs, creating detailed specifications like BRDs, user stories, and functional requirements. Create technical designs encompassing system architecture, database design, and API specifications. Develop process flows and data models for clear understanding and system design. Engage stakeholders, facilitate workshops, and communicate effectively through presentations and reports. Develop test cases, conduct testing (system and UAT), and obtain stakeholder validation. Contribute to on-time and within-budget project delivery, meeting business objectives and ensuring user satisfaction. What you’ll bring Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with a solid understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologies. 3+ years of experience eliciting, analyzing, and documenting requirements in a technology-driven environment, with a focus on translating business needs into technical solutions. Demonstrated ability to work with data (SQL), understand system architecture, and utilize relevant tools like Jira, Confluence, and diagramming software. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and experience working effectively with diverse stakeholders (business users, developers, testers). Familiarity with Agile principles and practices, including user story creation, backlog grooming, and sprint participation.
