Base pay range A$90,000.00/yr - A$120,000.00/yr New Medical Education Australia Pty Ltd (NewMed) is an exciting venture, working towards becoming a new Australian medical school. NewMed will offer an innovative, geographically distributed, hybrid delivery, graduate-entry Doctor of Medicine (MD), subject to successful registration/accreditation with the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and accreditation with the Australian Medical Council (AMC). About the position The Technology Officer is a motivated and experienced information technology (IT) professional who will work closely with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to provide support for the technologies underpinning the administrative, teaching and learning, and student engagement functions of NewMed. The Technology Officer will play a key role in the establishment and ongoing operation of NewMed, with a focus on the implementation, maintenance, and support of various software platforms, including the Student Information System (SIS), the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS), HubSpot Customer Relationship Management System (CRM), risr/assess Assessment Manager, MyProgress ePortfolio, and other integrated applications. Key Responsibilities The Technology Officer will support the technology needs of NewMed. These responsibilities require a blend of personal, technical, and project management skills. This includes: Application Administration: Assisting with the administration of core software platforms, including the SIS, Moodle LMS, CRM, risr/assess, MyProgress and other integrated applications. Managing user access, permissions, and configurations across various platforms. Monitoring system health, performance, and security, and escalating issues to the CIO as needed. Assisting with the management of student data, including ensuring data integrity, generating reports, and complying with relevant privacy regulations. Providing technical support and guidance to faculty and students on using online learning platforms and tools. Working with the CIO to explore and implement new technologies and approaches to support hybrid learning. Training and Support: Providing training and support to staff on software applications, including onboarding new users and conducting periodic training sessions. Managing and assisting with Tier 1/2 user support, and escalating Tier 3 support issues to the CIO as needed. Creating user-friendly guides, tutorials, and documentation to support users in utilising various software applications and platforms. Planning future road map: Assisting with technology-related projects, including planning, requirements gathering, procurement and implementation of new technologies and enhancements to existing systems. Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in education, particularly in areas like AI, AR/VR, and learning analytics, and contributing to their potential integration within NewMed's educational model. Web: Manage & maintain updates to the NewMed website. Selection Criteria: required qualifications and experience Applicants for the NewMed Technology Officer position must specifically address each of the following essential selection criteria: A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Broad IT knowledge coupled with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues. Demonstrated experience with IT operations best practices across application administration, support, requirements gathering, security, reporting and project management. Experience with CRMs and LMSs, ideally HubSpot and Moodle. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with IT, operations and academic staff. Experience and a passion for providing technical support to non-technical stakeholders.
