Job Overview Working with a Global Commercial Real Estate Agency, you will play a crucial part in ensuring financial stability and growth of the client’s property portfolio. This includes leading a team to deliver accurate financial asset modelling, maintaining strong financial reporting, and providing insights, analysis, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making. With the support of the centralised finance team and other National team members, you will oversee all financial aspects of the portfolio and work closely with key stakeholders to drive financial performance and achieve optimal investment outcomes. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare and review monthly financial reports for the assigned property account, ensuring accuracy and timeliness within established deadlines. Analyze financial data, providing insights on revenue, expenses, and key performance metrics for property stakeholders. Complete month-end financial close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting. Assist in identifying any financial discrepancies or irregularities and provide actionable recommendations. Budgeting & Forecasting Support Assist in updating financial forecasts and re-forecasting exercises as needed during the month. Support the Finance team with adjusting budget allocations based on actual performance or unforeseen changes. Collaborate with relevant teams to monitor and control costs, ensuring expenses remain aligned with budget projections. Cash Flow Management Ensure timely processing of invoices, receipts, and payments related to property transactions. Monitor cash flow for the property account, ensuring that revenue and expenses are properly tracked. Liaise with the property management team to ensure that tenant rent payments, service charges, and other property-related revenues are accurately processed. Property Accounting & Compliance Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements related to the property account. Review property-related accounts, including rent rolls, tenant billing, and accounts payable/receivable, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Assist in the preparation of necessary tax filings, ensuring deadlines are met for local tax requirements. Stakeholder Liaison Communicate regularly with the property management and operations teams to resolve any financial discrepancies or issues. Respond to client and internal stakeholder inquiries related to the financial performance of the property account. Provide interim support in ensuring that all financial documents and reports are easily accessible and well-organized for quick decision-making. Systems & Process Support Assist with maintaining and updating financial systems and software, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of data input. Identify areas for improvement in financial processes and assist in implementing minor changes where feasible during the temporary assignment. Ensure smooth handover of financial data and reports to the permanent team at the end of the contract period. Qualifications & Skills Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or ACCA Strong Excel skills with experience of pivot tables, lookups and multidimensional formulas. Experience & Skills: At least 5+ years of proven experience as a finance leader in the commercial real estate industry, specifically managing property portfolios. Strong financial acumen and expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Excellent understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, industry regulations, and asset modelling. Proficiency in financial software and tools, including MRI Investment Management, MRI PMX, Excel, and PowerBI. Personal Attributes: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Proactive and resourceful, with the ability to adapt to new systems and processes quickly. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
